Katie is an Illinois Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She earned her Master’s of Professional Counseling, with a Clinical Mental Health concentration, from Mount Mary University in 2020. She is currently furthering her professional development at Northern Illinois University in the Counselor Education & Supervision PhD program, and working towards her Traumatologist certification through the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology.
Katie works from a person-centered counseling orientation. She believes that everyone deserves to grow into themselves in an authentic, empathetic, non-judgemental space, and works to create this with her clients. She combines client experience, clinical knowledge, and personalized, creative tools to support growth. Katie’s clinical areas of specialty include survivors of sex trafficking and/or sexual torture, LGBTQIA + community members. Additional areas of competence include human-perpetrated trauma, non-suicidal self-harm, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, spirituality exploration, and couples counseling.
