Cat Sanders is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT). She received her master’s degree in social work from Loyola University Chicago and the 200 hour sex addiction therapist training certification from the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP).
Her therapeutic practice is about encouraging the process of recovery, whether it is recovery from mental illness, sex addiction (including pornography, masturbation, compulsive infidelity), betrayal trauma, substance abuse or other types of addictions. Cat’s belief is that recovery is made possible by a willingness to change, courage to commit and the help of supportive people. She is dedicated to providing a safe, non-judgmental and compassionate space for clients to express themselves, process their experiences and work on removing what is blocking their path to success and contentment.
Working in hospitals, community mental health, schools, and clinical settings Cat has provided a wide range of therapy to those who experience difficulties in adjustment and life transitions, depression, anxiety, addiction, sex addiction (including pornography, masturbation, compulsive infidelity), betrayal trauma, complex trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Cat has an eclectic approach and draws from multiple treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
